'We live in Edinburgh but had to book somewhere to stay while we were having work done at our house and Sycamore Cottage was perfect for four of us. The bedrooms are really spacious and the kitchen is really well equipped which isn’t always the case in self catering accommodation. We didn’t think we’d need to use the log burner but a typical Scottish spring meant we used it a few nights and there was plenty of logs left for it. Easy to drive into Edinburgh or can get the train from Gorebridge....

'Good for family (2 adults, 4 kids). Good location, 30 minute walk or 10-15 minute bus ride to the city centre. Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. Overall good, would stay again. '

'Nothing but glowing remarks for our stay in the Garden House at Oxenfoord Castle! Beautifully appointed. Very clean. Every supply you could ever need to prepare meals. Fantastic mud room with a great space to wash and fold laundry. Easy access to some of the best coastal golf in East Lothian/Mussleburgh area. 20 minute drive to downtown Edinburgh. Beautiful grounds with deer, pheasant, rabbits. Plentiful parking outside the unit. And above all....VERY accommodating owners. Without diving too...

'The weather wasn’t in our favor but it didn’t matter as the cottage was the perfect place to spend a rainy day. The home was far more spacious than the photos conveyed. We had plenty of room for our group of five. With a well fitted out kitchen, a nice supply of board games, and a cozy fire in the wood stove, everyone enjoyed themselves. Hopefully, we will be able to take advantage of the lovely enclosed private garden on a future visit.'
