Team Valley might not have many top sights, but Saltwell Park and Angel of the North are two attractions nearby that you can check out.
Visitors to Lamesley enjoy its restaurants, and if you want to do some exploring, Angel of the North is worth a stop.

Beautiful
Gatesheads lovely choose a nicer hotel the royal is food and cheap
Although this hotel is technically in Gateshead, it is right on the tyne river side, a 2 min walk over the millennium bridge and you are in newcastle city centre.
Spent time looking at The Angel of the North. The history surrounding the monument was very facinating. Also the public have nominated small trees in the vicinity as memorials to family members who have passed away. Felt this was poignant and moving.
Great base for discovering the area.
Very nice city with lots to do and loads of places to eat and drink.
