'Hotel Edgewater was a great place to stay right across from Resurrection Bay. We had a room with a view of the bay. We were able to walk across the street one night to watch the Aurora over the bay and mountains. The manager and employees were super nice and helpful. I highly recommend Hotel Edgewater!!'

'You do have to wrestle your suitcase up quite a few outside steps but there is plenty of room. It is worth the view from the dining area where a delightful breakfast was served. It is a cute, quaint place full of character. The hostesses was delightful. She was friendly and fun to visit.'

'We absolutely loved our stay. The property is immersed in nature, close but far enough from Seward. The cabins are basic but this is really the point. The highlight of our stay was surely the friendliness of Gary (the manager/owner) and even his friends. A true pearl, a true local stay. Kids loved it too! The only place we stayed in Alaska that had its own playground, close to the lake. No small feat!'

'Yana and her team were incredible. They went out of their way to make the house cozy everynight with a fire and great ambiance, greeted us every morning during breakfast (which the 3 course breakfast was always different and incredible!) and communicated clearly which made check in a breeze. Cant recommend this stop enough! '

'Misschien was onze verwachting te hoog gespannen maar het rook vies bij binnenkomst entree en naar eten in de rest van de accommodatie. Op 2e dag was de geur weg.'

'Loved this little cabin in the woods. We had the Eagles nest cable. Great for just me and my husband. Comfortable bed, very clean and the area around was great. Wonderful front porch- Wish we had more time to spend there. '

'Helaas kregen wij een kamer zonder uitzicht op de baai. Dat was wel de hoofdreden dat we deze lodge boekten. De kamer heeft te weinig ruimte om je spullen kwijt te kunnen, er staat 1 stoel en 2 bagagehouders maar er is geen kast of kastje of iets anders te bekennen om je kleding of spullen op kwijt te kunnen. De badkamer was heel erg klein, vooral de doucheruimte. Bovendien was het ontbijt maar tot half 9 en dit was ons bij aankomst niet verteld. Toen wij daardoor het ontbijt gemist hadden was...

'Only 5 hours since checkin. So perhaps too early for a comprehensive review. But preliminarily the Bear Lake Lodge is excellent. Bre is a good host. Physical facilities such as our room, bathroom, common areas, parking all satisfactory. The views of the lake and trees…gorgeous. Unfortunately a cold snowy/rainy day but we accept what we get. The end of 20 glorious days all over Alaska. Would like to return and stay longer with Bear Lake. Btw, did a one hour flight with Joey (co-owner of Bear...

'Pictures on Expedia showed houses at the beach but ours was inside the country. Yes we could see the sea but only 20%of the window. Rest was roof and trees. We didn't see the owners. There was no personal talk only emails. Looks like owners were hiding. Room was small. In our 4 weeks Alaska this was the most expensive and smallest room. Only Queensize bed. Kingsize would, 't fit. During our 3 night stay there was no housecleaning at all. '
