'We made a last minute reservation and all went fine. The room was spotless clean and there was a very good shower. The bar is very authentic and both the dinner and breakfast were very good. We had a nice view on the lake.'

'A cheap place to stay if you just need a place to sleep. Run down and mostly broken. Add to it the most inhospitable and rude receptionist which complained about everything but found it OK to "walk" his dog for a 5am morning pee at the trash cans in the small common area backyard.'

'The Lochaline Hotel is located in the tiny village of Lochaline, which is reached by a rather long drive on a single-track road. Although remote, the hotel rewards a stay with its peacefulness. It is located right on the sound. The ferry runs frequently to Mull and no reservation is needed. Our hosts were warmly welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the sound. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order.'

'The room was good with a large bathroom and perfectly acceptable. But it wasn't great. No chairs to sit in, only window seats which were uncomfortable. We were in room 1, right by the front door so rather noisy until the restaurant closed and our window (with a great view) was by the front door, so it felt a bit like being in a goldfish bowl. Would I stay again? Maybe, it was OK, just not great.'

'Ian's lodge proved to be super quaint in a quiet part of Kilchoan and up a slight hill, with a view of the water in the distance. Secluded surroundings making an evening on the porch ideal and private. Nice over hang making sit outs in the rain ideal and atmospheric. Very close to Kilchoan grocery store which also has a petrol station and with Kilchoan Hotel only a 5 minute walk away. So you have all the amenities on your doorstep. Great location for exploring the furthest part of Ardnamurchin...
