'It was clean and friendly. Well located too. However we checked in at 8:30 pm and the next day someone walked into our room. The hotel's software didn't record that we had checked in and marked us as a no-show and they gave our room away. Glad we were in the room so we could deal with the person. It took a bit to sort out the mix up and we had pre-paid for the room so it wasn't about payment. They need to fix their system because this wasn't a great feeling. '

'This was our first time staying at Mountaineer Casino. It was a nice experience. Had the wood fired pizza at Gatsby’s. Very good. The casino was very clean and did not have that smoky/stale beer smell. Good mix of older and newer machines. Had a little luck there as well. The restrooms actually had a pleasant smell, which is rare! The rooms are due for an update but couldn’t your own house use one too? Staff was nice as well. Will return !! '

'I was glad to have another option close to Franciscan University. And the room price, even after a discount at the other place, was better at Wingate. On a map it looked walkable, and in fact was -- if you don't mind going cross-country for a little bit. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable.'

'Hotel is very nice, rooms good size and comfortable. Dog track was fun. Casino was small and a bit dirty. Food options not good on site in my opinion. No buffet to speak of, currently in the food court. Worst casino buffet I ever experienced. Everything else was very good.'
