Bright Oak Leaf Cottage

Dit mooie ruime huis heeft 2 grote slaapkamers en 1 kleinere slaapkamer, met 2 volledige badkamers. Het beschikt ook over airconditioning voor die warme zomerdagen, en een pelletkachel (met oven back-up) voor die koele nachten. Directe tv en WiFi-internettoegang zijn beschikbaar in het huisje. Dit huisje heeft een open, uitnodigende plattegrond met veel ramen. Het is volledig gerenoveerd en bijgewerkt. Een mooie serre naast de eetkamer biedt een plek om te ontspannen.
Gunstig gelegen op korte rijafstand van het bruisende centrum van Bar Harbor, ligt dit rustige huis langs de busroute naar de gratis pendelbussen van Island Explorer. Laat je auto achter en stap op een bus voor een gratis rit overal op Mount Desert Island en naar Acadia National Park. Ons huisje ligt op een groot perceel omgeven door eiken en ligt op loopafstand van de oceaan. Verschillende populaire campings en kreeftenponden liggen op minder dan 1,5 km en kajakken op zee ligt op minder dan 1,5 km. Ons huis ligt op tien tot vijftien minuten van elk van de steden op Mt. Desert Island: Somesville, Seal Harbor, Northeast Harbor en Southwest Harbor. Al deze steden hebben hun eigen karakter en bieden hun eigen unieke mix van restaurants, bezienswaardigheden, walvissen spotten, kunst, gemeenschapsevenementen, bergen om te wandelen, rijtuigen om te wandelen of fietsen, stranden, parken, vuurtorens, zeilen en boot- gevulde havens.

Gem in the woods
This is probably my favorite vacation rental I’ve ever stayed in. This little cottage was perfect for my little family and my Husbands parents. It was well stocked and clean. The location is private but also within walking distance of a great restaurant. There were games and camping chairs to sit outside, and a grill on the deck. I would definitely recommend it to any family up to 6 people. There were lots of towels and a washer and dryer which was amazing for this point in our trip. I’ll definitely be booking with them again next year.

Very enjoyable stay
The property is exactly as advertised. Off the main roads, quiet, private, well kept, VERY clean. We cooked all meals there and found the kitchen supplies more than adequate. Plenty of room to spread out (meals, reading, games, puzzles, etc.). Owners were adjacent to the rental property. We talked to Rita, pleasant lady. Highly recommend!

Clean, well-appointed house with no surprises located 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and the main part of Acardia. Lobster stand and coffee shop next door, plus good hikes in the less-visited parts of the park. Great if you don't want to be in the middle of the things but close by.

The perfect Mt Desert Island getaway
The place was WAY bigger than we expected, super comfortable, lots of spaces for hanging, and beautiful outdoor space as well. We were told the kitchen had everything we needed - and they weren't kidding! We were able to cook every night and even make a birthday cake and some muffins without having to get extra tins. And it's so close to the park, it made hiking trips so easy. Super great!

Wonderful property. The pictures don’t do it justice! Perfect base camp for adventuring in Acadia NP. We had 3 generations with us and we all thought the house was great. Plenty of towels and essentials. The kitchen was very well stocked and allowed us to prepare for each day’s hikes then come back and cook in for dinner. A great value compared to the pricey hotels on the island and so much more private and peaceful. We give this our highest rating!

Property met our needs. The upstairs could get pretty warm when the weather is hot. Otherwise you have all that you need and it was very comfortable. Walking distance to the best lobster eatery around (The Traveling Lobster). Convenient all locations, from Bar Harbor to Acadia.

This property is conveniently located to the park Bar Harbor and northeast harbor. We loved the spaciousness and convenience of the cottage. Easy check in check out. It is a little off the beaten path but perfect for our stay. I would have enjoyed an extra wash cloth or two but there is a washer and dryer.

Excellent location and access to the island as well as shopping inland. Nicely renovated, well maintained and furnished house. The house is within walking distance of The Travelin Lobster, an excellent place to get seafood and reasonably priced live lobsters. Just an FYI, the house is on a dirt road, but for a short distance, window AC units were adequate, top floor had low ceilings on the edges due to the pitch of the roof, not for tall people.

The place was relaxing, away from the busy Bar Harbor area and accessible to all parts of Acadia. The host was wonderfully responsive to our questions and needs. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, making it very easy for us to cook all our meals.
