Strandhotels in Bois Blanc Island

'The advertisement is deceiving. The outdoor pool looks nothing like the picture (it’s small and dark). The waterpark is actually at a next door hotel. The cabins DO NOT have a laundry service available. I was told to go to the Ramada Inn across the street to do our laundry. The staff was unfriendly. They acted like we were inconveniencing them when we arrived. The room smelled of mold, the bathroom floor was coming undone and the carpet was filthy. We travel a lot, abroad and in the United...

'Dirty dirty nasty. Hairs in the tub and in the toilet. Cobwebs and a LOT of bugs in our room. Including in the bed. The manager just said sorry and told us we had to contact Expedia for a refund. We will NEVER stay at The Fleetwood again. Absolutely a waste of our money'

'The location was excellent. It’s right on the beach. the shuttle service to and from Sheppler was top-notch service. Housekeeping cleaned our rooms every day. The maintenance guy was beyond amazing. Make sure bonfires and s’mores every night. The breakfast was pretty decent as well. Only minor thing I would mention is the bathrooms were small and the toilets could use an upgrade. Otherwise, it was an excellent day and I would definitely recommend if you want to stay right on the beach.'

'This is an adorable B&B and the proprietors were so kind. My flight was horribly delayed (and stressful as I almost didn't find a way to even get to Cheboygan to pick my son up from camp) and I didn't end up arriving until 3:00 in the morning. I was texting with Ann and sure enough she was sitting on their back porch waiting for me when I arrived. I slept through breakfast and she had saved some for me that she reheated when I was up. 'Mostly clean and nice to stay in, but beds were stiff and the shower was marked wrong (hot was cold and cold was hot) and the temperature would randomly change from freezing to burning hot'
