Doves Rest Cabins - ChairLift, aan de West Rim

Deze "lucht lift" van een cabine ontleent zijn naam aan de Sky Ride concessie die werken bij Palo Duro Canyon State Park in de jaren 1960. landhoofd van de oorspronkelijke rit's zit naast deze hut doet denken aan de good-old-by-gone-dagen toen station wagons en familie op vakantie waren de norm, en staat parken waren een favoriete plek om ze te nemen. Een reeks stoeltjeslift zetels bewogen opgewekt park bezoekers uit canionvloer honderden meters boven de top van een mesa die hieronder te zien is in deze cabine.

Nu, opgewonden stoeltjeslift cabine gasten ontspannen en genieten van magische momenten bij zonsopgang en zonsondergang, wanneer het gouden licht over de torenhoge kliffen en rotsen spitsen van Palo Duro speelt. Een van de beste eigenschappen van het fantastische uitzicht vanaf deze cabine is het samenspel van de blauwe hemel, steenrood rock en lime-groene vegetatie. Stoeltjeslift is de perfecte Palo Duro Escape voor de nostalgische en avonturierster reiziger.

Every stay is perfect!
We planned our cross country trip around the Dove’s Rest availability! We stayed at Dove’s Rest two years ago for the first time and absolutely loved it! The views of Palo Duro canyon are fantastic and the home is so very comfortably furnished! The hosts are excellent communicators! The home is perfect for families traveling with multiple generations as well as their pups! We saw wild sheep and longhorns. It is an easy drive to town for dinner or a short drive to the mercantile down the road for lunch! We can’t wait for our next trip back!

Die Cabin hat eine wunderschöne Lage am Rand des Palo Duro Canyons. Sie ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr komfortabel. Wenn wir einmal wieder in die Gegend kommen sollten, würden wir auf jeden Fall versuchen, wieder hier zu übernachten. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit, die wir hier verbringen konnten.

Excellent all around! Beautiful inside and out. Will definitely be back. Watched sunset, moon rise and sunrise, all from the front porch or side drive.

Best place to unwind and relax!
We always stop here for a few days in between softball tournaments in Colorado and Dallas to relax and unwind. AMAZING views, wildlife everywhere, stars at night are unreal, and most of all quiet!! We have stayed in two units. The Fortress and Chairlift and both were fantastic. Go see the show one night at the state park!

Reunion with longtime friends in spectacular setting
We loved being by the canyon, the outdoor grill and the comfort of the couches that held us while we talked for hours gazing at the views. Kitchen well equipped, beautifully decorated, and comfortable beds (though a bit of a climb up into them for those of us who are a bit short.) Superb!!!!

Wonderful!
We are from Houston and wanted to spend a long weekend hiking in Palo Duro Canyon. I found this property on VRBO and fell in love with it. It more than met our expectations and was exactly as described in the listing - actually, better! The property owners are VERY friendly and responsive!! Our water went out one morning after a thunderstorm. We called and they told us "we're already on our way!" (apparently we were not the only cabin affected). The issue was fixed in 15 minutes and they even called back to confirm that we were back up and running. A wonderful excursion to the Texas Panhandle. Well worth the long drive, fellow Houstonians!!

A fantastic little gem
Needed a stop over on a road trip back home and decided to stop in Armirillo for 2 nights. We found the house “Charlift” and couldn’t have been happier with the house and the view. A definite recommend.

Peaceful, private, cinfortable and beautiful views
This cottage has it all - everything you need other than a toothbrush and a few clothes. The cottage is beautifully & very tastefully decorated in rustic Southwest style. Views are stunning. Wifi and television worked smoothly. The cabin is described as remote, but Canyon, TX is only a short 15 minute drive away. There are numerous restaurants and at least two places to buy groceries. Be aware that many of the counties in this general area do no allow alcohol sales, but you can buy anything you need in Canyon. The park itself is stunning and this cabin is very close to the West rim affording a truly beautiful view. One word of warning expressed in a previous review is that there are burrs in the scant vegetation that will adhere quickly to you and your dog. Keep to the gravel areas and it will be fine. If you go, buy tickets for park admission well ahead of time. Communication with the managers of Dove's Rest ahead of our visit was excellent.

The views from the cabin onto Palo Duro Canyon harken back to days of Lonesome Dove. The cabin was lovely with all the conveniences needed. The bottle of champagne was a welcomed treat while sitting on porch watching wildlife.

Family Spring Break
I really wanted to share my love and fascination of the Palo Duro Canyon with my daughter and grandchildren. Staying here really got them excited and everyday they couldn't wait to get to the canyon for hiking and horseback riding. *** Use the horseback riding in the canyon - Old West Stables. We will definitely stay here again while visiting family.

This place is just spectacular. The property has great views of the canyon, you can just sit there and stare for hours. The cabin is very close to the state park which is perfect for any hiking adventure.

THE VIEW!!
This cabin is SO cute and was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the view from the porch so much. We grilled burgers and watched the beautiful sunset on the canyon. The fireplace was great for this time of year. Overall we loved our stay and can't wait to come back. Thank you!!
