When we checked in my wife and I noticed that this place was not clean, meaning there was one of two things that happened: the previous renters kind of cleaned up the place or the Vacasa cleaning crew is horrible. There was dirty towels in the washing machine, clean towels in the dryer, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, old food caked on the stove, crumbs everywhere, body hair all over the sheets on the bed, trash in the trash can, one extra trash bag, no trash bags in the bathrooms, hand soap bottles clearly filled up with an inch or water to extend what little soap was left, an old water heater in the driveway, no shampoo, one bar of soap, one roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper. Did I mention the hair all over the bed? Short and curly hair. You get it.
So I called Vacasa that management company who said it was too late to get a cleaning crew over. Keep in mind the listing says enhanced cleaning is done with at least 24 hours between customers because of the pandemic...and now they want to send in a new crew? Anyway, they said the local manager would call the next day to discuss. I called VRBO immediately after and they said I needed to give Vacasa time to respond and they would give me a call within 24 hours.
The Vacasa manager texted me.... texted, not called around 3 the next day and asked what was going on. We had to explain over text that the place was dirty and filthy and that this was unacceptable, and that we would not be ok with a cleaning crew in the house since we have already spent several hours cleaning a place that we paid to have cleaned....she said she would look into it. We didn't hear back for 2 days. And that we would get a refund on the cleaning fee, which was min.
VRBO never got back to me...but sent me a survey asking how well they did in resolving all my issues! Well, VRBO somehow managed to do less than Vacasa. They closed my case and moved on.
So we never received new garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, or anything. So on top of the very premium price you pay for this house, you get zero supplies and have to clean it yourself. And don't expect either VRBO or Vacasa to be of any assistance.
I'm sure Vacasa will say they cleaned the house....but after WE washed the sheets the hair was suddenly gone. So we bought new pillows, blankets, and such because I have no clew what is clean or not.
The house is ok. It's old and hasn't been remodeled in a long time. The view is great, the fire pit nice.
