'Good for family (2 adults, 4 kids). Good location, 30 minute walk or 10-15 minute bus ride to the city centre. Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. Overall good, would stay again. '

'The house is really clean and cosy in a quiet neighborhood. For a drink/ dinner or shopping you need your car for a 5 minute drive. The owners are really friendly and helpful. '

'Vriendelijke eigenaar, fijn verblijf. Alleen jammer dat er vanuit de cottage geen wandelingen gaan. Alles moet eerst met de auto. Het huisje was schoon alleen de pannen waren vies en ook de bank was niet helemaal schoon.'

'It was a great place just outside the city. Perfect for our family of six to head into Edinburgh or south to Peebles. Hosts were great and the place was clean and neat.'

'We loved staying at Mauldslie Cottage while visiting the Edinburgh area. It was cozy & inviting. While it was a bit outside of Edinburgh, the train was very convenient to get into and home from the city, and we also enjoyed seeing the countryside.'

'Very cozy cottage. Good location and also public transport nearby which was great. Small tip, add a bread knife and corkscrew and it would be more than perfect ;) We'd love to return'

'We had a lovely time in the cottage. Even though there was a problem one night with the alarm, the owners quickly and adequately solved it. The communication was clear and friendly. We very much recommend this cottage.'

'We had a fabulous family stay over Christmas and New Year. Plenty of space to spread out for the whole family. Comfortable beds, clean and warm house with everything you need in a beautiful setting. Lots of wildlife in the grounds. Easy access to Edinburgh and the surrounding area. We’d happily return!'

'Location excellent. And, photos accurately show current condition. The manager/owner and I have had a constructive dialogue which I hope will improve his property, specifically, buying new mattresses (as the current ones are soft and sinking), adding hangers to the wardrobe, adding hooks for damp towels to hang, and, fixing the leak from the bathroom that resulted in damp conditions in the larger of the two bedrooms. Manager/owner was responsive to my concerns and cooperative. '

'Comfortable cottage with roaring wood stove. We were surprised by a morning of snow which added to the beauty. Kim, our host was the best, helping us when needed, even suppling candles at last minute when a predicted windstorm threatened power outage which luckily never came. '
