My 4 month old daughter contracted covid and tested positive 4 days prior to our stay. Ultimately the rest of of got covid as well. I purchased the travel insurance through Expedia just in case, however, the verbage in the policy was confusing. I thought I had until the day before to cancel my reservation if needed (with the travel insurance). The travel insurance through Expedia is worthless. Required a cancel the week before our trip. I tried to contact Expedia and the hotel. The hotel told me Expedia should he able to refund my money because I booked through them (a non-refundable room when originally booked but again that's the reason I paid for the worthless travel insurance). Expedia told me that it was the hotel refusing to refund my booking (even though once again Expedia is who my money went to). Regardless, my 2 rooms ended up going to waste because I'm not inconsiderate enough to travel with a party of 5 people when actively sick with covid. Neither Expedia or the hotel cared. You're welcome for the free money (or taking it rather) and my willingness to NOT get anyone at your facility sick. Orbitz it is for me from here on out.
