'My husband and I stayed here years ago for our anniversary and loved it so much, we came back! We brought our family and some friends and their kids. It was a great set up for all of us. And lovely location! Breathtaking views of the valley and the ability to easily get to the quaint town of Honoka’a. We specifically chose this location so we could have a central spot to come back to after exploring parts of the northern area of the island. Highly recommend! '

'The great room was a great place to gather for meals, games, & laughs. We loved the gazebo, lanai, & sunroom for morning yoga. How fun-tastic to come back “home” after daily excursions to play in the pool! We look forward to a return visit. :)'

'Loved the spaciousness of the apartment, location (about 1 1/2 to other popular cities & excursion but didn’t like hearing those walking in the upstairs unit, no kitchen access & the roaches!!! Nighttime crawlers especially in the room near the entryway & bathroom. Contacted owner & they dropped off bug spray for us to use since the exterminator was unable to come out over the weekend. 'The Thomas Guard house is a gem in Hilo. The location is perfect - not in the middle of the city but close enough to walk to local restaurants. The beautiful grounds, the waterfall, the river running through the backyard, they all added to the charm. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Charlotte has thought of all the details to make this a wonderful place to stay. It was a perfect way to unwind from an otherwise busy life. '

'Beautiful luxury stay with amazing amenities and views. King size beds in both masters were so comfortable with great pillows too! Best sleep in years! Kitchen equipped with everything you would ever need '

'This place is 15-20 minutes up the hill from any beach. Do not let that stop you from staying here. Worth the drive. The condo is on hole 3 of the golf course. Great views. The pool is 100ft away. Everything is clean and well stocked. The communication with the management company was exceptional. Check in and out was easy.'

'We stayed in this home for the full month of March 2025. We rated this a 10 based on our top three requirements: next to the ocean, clean, comfortable beds. This home met all three requirements. 'We loved our time here! The property is just like the photos and it's so close to Volcanoes National Park. There was an eruption the day we arrived and we were able to get to it in 10 minutes. It's also just beautiful to be surrounded nature. A comment: there weren't any blinds/curtains, so be aware when the sun comes through in the morning.'
