'Description of the place was accurate including location details, surroundings and trains. River is about 20 yards from the house, serene ambiance, quiet relaxing sound. Train watching was enjoyable experience and, on positive side, the trains didn't run at night (or so I think). To make it clear, watching trains wasn't a distant watching, trains run about 10-15 yards from the house. However, it didn't bother us at all to our surprise. 'We had a wonderful stay. A quick 3 night stay after picking up our daughter at Virginia Tech. It was the perfect size for my family of 5. Even though the lake water was cold, it didn’t stop us from having our cold plunge or getting the kayak out. The hot tub easily took the chill away. The house had a wonderful view of the lake. It was very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here. '

'It was a nice stay and very unique. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The photos make the place look a bit newer than it is which was fine but we were expecting the place to be much more updated than it was. It still was great and really cozy. Our dog liked the area to run around and the neighbors were very far so it was private and quiet. We liked the smores but there were no smores sticks so we had to go get those which the store is pretty close so no biggie....

'We highly recommend booking a stay. The cottage was extremely welcoming and clean. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed playing the provided games. The bathhouse wasn’t a far walk and was very clean. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back! Pet friendly as well, loved bringing my dog!'
