'Ochiairo exceeded our expectations! The facility, room, and food were all incredible. We definitely got a true Japanese experience and felt like we had traveled back in time. The staff is incredibly attentive and our room was unbelievably beautiful. Loved the onsen experience, authentic food, and the attention to detail. '

'A very quiet place, perhaps the season, walkable distance to train station. The ride along the coast was enjoyable. I had the best Japanese breakfast there overlooking the sea! Well arranged, excellent taste. A great sushi place across at the wharf at the end of the building and also great seafood to be had in town. '

'Oni no sumika is a beautiful ryokan tucked away in Shuzenji. The staff are all extremely kind and accommodating (they do not speak English, so google translator is a must if you’re foreign and they are quick to use it) The traditional breakfast was great, with many small dishes that leave you satisfied but not full to start your day. If I am in shuzenji again I will be staying here.'

'The staff was friendly, and although the hotel was a bit old, it was clean and well-maintained, so there were no inconveniences. The ocean view from the room and open-air hot spring in the large public bath was truly wonderful. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was extremely slow, but overall, it was an accommodation I would love to visit again.'

'This is a beautiful Ryokan with a view looking over the water. The staff was very responsive and helpful. We emailed them when we were in the area and on the way to the local station. They shuttle van drove up as we were walking out of the station. Thankful for that as the ryokan was on a windy, narrow road. 'We had an excellent experience at KAI Ito! Our family of four stayed in a room with a private hot spring tub. The suite was large and comfortable, and both breakfast and dinner were included. The food was extravagant and excellent, but note that it will not be appropriate for very picky eaters.
