'The High Road Hotel is in a funky area of Washington, D.C. Most of the clientele which I observed were young couples and singles. However, I enjoyed my stay as a seventy-eight-year-old man. My room was small but had all the necessities. I slept on the top bunk which I thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of restaurants are available in the neighborhood. I stopped by a Sudanese grocery store and had an interesting conversation with the owner. Public transportation by bus is nearby, but the subway...

'Stayed for 2 nights in upgrade studio on the top floor, looking out at the converted church entry building. Be aware, the windows are not constructed properly to keep out the extreme loud noise of outside huge ventilator units. Complaint both nights, no follow up. For (crazy) pricing of almost 700 dollars a night, a bad night sleep. At check out they waived me the extra resort fee of 25 dollars for 1 night, what an insult. Dont stay here ! There are so many better options in DC.'

'Nice hotel in a good neighbourhood. Always felt safe. There is a little restaurant at the hotel with good food where you could have breakfast and lunch for reasonable prices. Metro was not so far and had a good connection to al the tourist sights. Really enjoyed my time in Washington DC. Would definitely stay there again. '

'An overpriced three star minus hotel. The elevator sign still mentions a restaurant and bar, but those were closed years ago. The "clubroom" is just an empty space with a few tables and chairs. The lobby is a corridor from the elevators to the door, where you can check yourself in on a machine on the wall. The staff is friendly though and the location is central.'
