At the end of a busy week away from home, to come to Morunga, enjoy the quiet of a rural retreat, to feel safe & warm and to have a very "low key" weekend was wonderful.
Cath's home-cooked meals and bread making course were highlights.
The farm house is huge! The rooms are generous and the open plan kitchen family area are well thought out with all the facilities to indulge your cooking and baking desires (wood stove + conventional oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, water filter etc.). We will be back - I for one have a date with the wood stove to try a roast and a rice pudding!
Everything is clean, tidy and in plentiful supply (no shortage of towels, blankets, etc.. Once the wood stove is going - the house is warm, but this is Kimbolton I.e. it's cold, and you will need your woolies for outside. The mornings were crisp and the kids loved exploring the orchard, finding the chickens and the tree house.
Cath is great to have a yarn with and has a full commercial kitchen (as mentioned home cook meals can be purchased & bread making course is a treat you should try GF available, as well as jams, preserves etc.)& as well as retreat facilities for small groups.
Simply - this is a lovely place to stay for family groups. The Ruahines are in all their glory on your door step. You're a stones throw from the village, Kiwitea, Cheltenham and Fielding. Do yourself a favour - come stay.
