'We absolutely loved our stay at Ambleside. We were given a spa room upgrade after the first room we had. The staff are outstanding here from Ash at reception to Manuel in the dining room and Hannah in the spa. The many lounge areas are lovely and very tastefully decorated. This will be our go to hotel when we return to Ambleside! Thank you for an incredible 3 night stay! '

'Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful - receptionist showed us several rooms when we enquired about an upgrade, and gave us a lake view for £20 extra. Food allowance was ample and meal was excellent. Lovely breakfast. Really enjoyed the spa and the a candlelit back massage. Loves all the unique and quirky art all around the hotel. We will definitely return. '

'I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!) My hike up Skiddaw, descending to Keswick...

'The hotel was good. We were in an annex, which you would have selected when booking (which we didn’t). We’d have preferred to be in the main building, for convenience and ambience, however, the room was good and clean. The staff were great and the bar area was really nice, plus it’s very central. Overall, we’d stay again.'

'this is our 4th stay at Rothay and it remains one of our favourites in the lakes. in winter it’s great to cosy up after a long walk in the garden spa, and the rooms and ambience is really comfortable without any pretentious swagger for which some of the other hotels in the area would charge you £100 per night more. breakfast is good quality and staff are friendly and efficient '
