The Space:
Gold Nugget 3 is tucked away from the usual camping area of Gold Park with separate access through the back and convenient parking right next to the tiny house. The stay comes with views of lush, green paddocks, creeks, and random visits from Rudy the deer over the fence 5 meters away from the tiny house.
The campsite is also a drive away from various scenes and activities such as Nugget Point, Tunnel Beach Dunedin, Larnach Castle, and Orokonui Ecosanctuary.
It's a cozy 139-square-foot tiny house with comfortable and well-furnished guest rooms, wide public spaces, and comfortable seating areas. Easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities included. These amenities include a flush toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that there are two tiny houses called "Gold Nugget 1 and 2 " that sit on the same property. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and the whole camping ground. Do keep away from private signs and do not open any paddock gates that are locked.
Access our shared amenities at Gold Park, including a communal pool, backyard, and laundry with washer and dryer. Additionally, enjoy communal facilities such as showers, toilets, a mini-library, and a kitchen.

The rich heritage and beautiful surroundings make Lawrence the perfect destination for history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike, truly a hidden jewel in the heart of South Otago.

Food Scene
- Weatherson Creek Food Truck, located on the site, serves burgers, chips, and craft beers.
- The Mango Chicken burger is a favorite here, and it's open Thurs-Sun from 5 PM to 8 PM every week.
- Been Jazzed Cafe is a local gem and a 5-minute walk from the camp. They are open every Fri-Sun 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. You can buy fresh roasted beans here too.
- Lawrence Night n Day offers fast fresh food, groceries, deli, snack foods, and the biggest ice creams in town!
- The Coach & Horses Inn is a cafe and bar open daily from 11 am. Come in relax and enjoy delicious cafe-style fare, including gourmet pizzas and children meals. Recently renovated preserving local heritage and character. Providing indoor/ outdoor dining on the warm sunny side of the street. The public bar has a self service TAB, pokies and a friendly local atmosphere.
Sightseeing
- Nugget Point is an iconic scenic platform with one of the country’s oldest lighthouses: Nugget Point lighthouse perched above the famous rocks named by Captain Cook, because they looked like nuggets of gold.
- Tunnel Beach Dunedin features the popular Tunnel Beach walk where you can explore sea-carved sandstone cliffs, rock arches and caves.
- Larnach Castle is New Zealand’s Castle offering an insight into Victorian culture, showcasing master craftsmanship, New Zealand antiques and living.
- Orokonui Ecosanctuary is home to some of the world’s most fascinating and rare forest birds, reptiles and plants. Walk along and enjoy the sounds and sights of an enchanting forest.
Getting Around:
By car:
- Lawrence is 90 Kms from Dunedin and a 1 hour 15 min drive away.
- The nearest towns are Milton (33kms) or Balcutha (56kms)
- Reachable by 2WD and 4WD.
By public transport:
- Daily bus service from Dunedin City and Dunedin airport is available.
- The bus drops off at the main drag and the camp is a 10 min walk from there. Inter-city is the bus provider.
Other Things to Note:
- Pets is allowed
- Camp-wide fast WiFi now available.
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed.
- Gas BBQ Grill is available for $20 and with prior arrangement.
- Smoking is allowed only at designated area outside the tiny house
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, 2degrees and Spark
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
