Pretty old house 35 minutes from Bordeaux, in a peaceful hamlet in the Landes forest, near Sauternes and the Ciron.
Ideal for a weekend or holiday with family or friends.
Large warm and friendly rooms, large covered terrace.
Wifi ok.
No restless or noisy parties.
More than 18 beds are available in the house (15 or 20 euros per additional person, depending on the season and length of stay).
The house should be carefully cleaned before leaving.
Bed linen and towels are extra (20 euros per person).
Restored in a healthy, ecological and traditional way, this country house, cleverly arranged for groups, is ideal for reunions or holidays with family and friends.
The whiteness of the lime, the raw wood, the terracotta and the simplicity of things make the soul of this house.
Shade and coolness guaranteed in summer.
Very pleasant warmth throughout the house in winter.
The wifi works very well throughout the house.
There is a basic price for 6 people and then it is 15 or 20 euros per additional person, depending on the season and length of stay.
The prices are degressive according to the length of the stay.
Linen can be hired for 20 euros per person (20 euros for a single bed and 40 euros for a double bed).
If this is arranged in advance, we can do the cleaning for 20 euros per person. But even in this case, the house must be tidy, relatively clean and the rubbish sorted and disposed of.
The house is located in a hamlet in the middle of the Landes de Gascogne natural park, close to the Ciron river (accrobranche, canoeing, fishing, swimming), the beautiful municipal swimming pool of Villandraut (with multi-sport fields), the Hostens lake (swimming and leisure centre), the golf course, the medieval castles and the vineyards of Sauternes and Graves
Three couples with children will be very comfortable. The house sleeps at least 20 people.
Beds are in three large bedrooms (4, 5 and 6 beds) and a lovely attic dormitory with 10 beds (three spaces separated by beams and curtains).
There is a bathroom (bath and washbasin), separate WC and washbasin inside the house, and a second bathroom (shower, WC and washbasin) outside, accessible from the terrace.
There is also a nice outdoor shower with hot water.
The house offers large, warm and friendly spaces: the large living room (with a well-equipped kitchen, several tables and a large wood-burning stove), the sitting room (with piano, fireplace, armchairs, coffee table and sofa), a large covered terrace to the West (with tables, chairs, benches, coffee table and fridge) which opens onto an intimate enclosed garden patio, a second wooden terrace to the South-East (with table, chairs and parasol) and several small gardens in the morning or evening sun or shade.
The house has plenty of hot water, three fridge-freezers, a big gas hob, a oven, two large mobile barbecues, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, two mobile fans, central heating, a large fireplace and a large wood-burning stove.
There are also plenty of books, DVDs and board games.
The house is set up for family life or small groups, but there are extra tables and chairs to seat everyone for meals, and plenty of kitchen utensils (crockery, large barbecues, three fridge-freezers, etc.) to set up as you wish when there are more of you.
For everyone's satisfaction, however, I need to clarify a few important points:
1) Noise:
Large families or groups of friends are welcome, but it is not possible to organise large, uncontrolled or noisy parties that could disturb the neighbourhood. The house is in a hamlet with neighbours 5 metres away.
2) Cleaning:
You will find the house perfectly clean and tidy when you arrive. The house should be carefully tidied up before you leave so that I and my family can arrive after you and find the house as we left it.
Waste must be properly sorted.
If this is arranged in advance, the cleaning can be done by us for 200 euros. But even then, the house must be tidy, relatively clean and the rubbish sorted and disposed of.
3) Linen :
Linen cleaned and ironed in the laundry (fitted sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels) is normally provided and charged at a supplement of 20 euros per person (20 euros for a single bed and 40 euros for a double bed), unless you agree to bring and use all the necessary sheets of the appropriate size.
4) Pets:
Because I want to keep the gardens and fabrics clean, I prefer not to accept animals.

Sleeping arrangements:
There is a very large bedroom on the ground floor (with a 160 cm Japanese bed and three 90 cm single beds, two of which are twin beds that can be combined into a king-size bed), a second bedroom on the ground floor (with a comfortable 140 cm sofa bed and two 90 cm single beds - twin beds that can be combined into a king-size bed), a large bedroom upstairs in the attic (with a 160 cm bed and four single beds - two 90 cm twin beds that can be combined to form a king-size bed), a large open room upstairs with sleeping areas separated by beams and curtains (two 140 cm beds, two 120 cm sofa beds, a 90 cm bed and an extra mattress) and a sofa bed in the lounge.
Surrounding activities:
As well as walks in the forest around the house and the town of Bordeaux 35 minutes away, you can enjoy the Ciron (accrobranche, canoeing, fishing and swimming), the municipal swimming pool of Villandraut (three pools and a slide), the châteaux-forts of Budos, Villandraut and Roquetaillade, the Sauternes and Graves wine châteaux, the Hostens lake (magnificent area in the forest with supervised swimming, games for children and pedal boats) and the beaches of the Arcachon Basin or the Ocean.
Wifi and telephones:
The network and wifi works very well everywhere in the house.
The landline telephone allows you to receive and make free calls to mobiles in France.
Heating, fireplace and wood stove:
Central heating with large cast-iron radiators ensures optimum comfort: soft, constant heat in every corner of the house.
There is also a large wood-burning stove, fireplace and a barbecue, for those who like hot weather, pyromaniac poets and old-fashioned woodcutters.
Location and shops:
Laulan is a small hamlet with no shops. But you will find:
In Noaillan (five minutes by car): a Carrefour Contact supermarket (24-hour fuel and quality meat), a bar-tabac open on Sundays, a bakery that bakes sourdough bread in a wood-fired oven, and a good takeaway pizzeria.
In Villandraut (five minutes by car): all shops (two bakeries, tobacco shop, post office, a butcher, a mini-market), municipal swimming pool open in summer, tennis courts, multi-sports stadium.
In Sauternes (five minutes by car): restaurants, guinguette, bar-tabac open on Sundays and Sauternes wine sales.
In Langon (fifteen minutes by car): the train station and all major supermarkets and shops, heated swimming pool and hammam open all year round, bowling, cinema, children's playground, hospital, bar-tabac open on Sundays, etc.
Doctors and hospitals:
In Villandraut and Sauternes (five minutes by car): medical houses with several medical and paramedical specialities.
In Langon (fifteen minutes by car): a hospital (with a maternity ward) and a clinic.
