'Staying in the watergate hotel in Butuan city was a disappointing experience. At the crowded front desk they announced they had to charge 1000 pesos for a blood spot in one towel. My wife felt already bad she left a blood spot on her towel due to her menstrual cycle. But felt worse after receiving a penalty for it. We are decent people and regular travelers but never experienced this humiliation at the crowded front desk. '

'The room was clean, bed was nice. The bathroom tile could use a bit more cleaning. Air conditioning worked fine. Breakfast was good and next to the hotel. The adjacent restaurants were quite good actually. Ample parking on both sides of the hotel. Don't expect this to be quite the same as a $200 /night hotel in the USA..... but it's plenty cood enough and a good value for the price.'
