I arrived at around 7:00 PM on the 17th. There had been a snowstorm. Snow had been plowed into any open parking spots, making it impossible to park in the QI parking lot. When I went in to ask where I should park, I was told to park across the street in another business lot. I had to walk with my suitcases through a blizzard and snowdrifts to get back to the QI. I went to my room, and the lights wouldn’t turn on. Not to mention, there was just the worst smell in the entire hotel area, especially in the elevator. I went back to the front desk to ask someone to sort out my lights. There were four different men at the front desk. One of them called for someone to go fix it; he acted like he was a guest and had no idea what to do. I stayed in the lobby to wait for the person to come back. The man at the front desk spoke to another man who was later identified as the owner of the property. He could not be fazed that the lights were not working. The maintenance man came back and confirmed the lights were not working but said he got a lamp to work so I could return to the room in a smelly hotel with one working lamp. I asked for another room; the man at the front needed to ask the owner. The owner acted like this was a huge accommodation. I asked for a discount on the room due to this situation. He agreed to a new room but said, "What’s the point of a discount? You’ll have lights now." So I had lights. In some ways, I wish I didn’t, for seeing the room was not awesome.
