Our house is the most spacious of any accommodation in the area.
It is perfectly suited for families’ holidays and get-togethers, those guests seeking outdoors adventure, and for everyone, a brilliant place to relax and enjoy the location’s stunning scenery, the breathtaking sunsets and the myriad of stars on a cloudless night.
Local businesses offer bike and kayak rentals, allowing guests to explore the local area and enjoy the views and activities right outside Tigh Na Breac's doorstep. The house provides a tranquil retreat yet remains conveniently close to Oban for shopping and amenities.
Upon entry, the hallway features coat hooks, shoe storage, bench seating, and an adjoining restroom with a shower.
The heart of the home is the expansive vaulted living space (8m x 8m), highlighted by a floating hearth and a substantial log burner. It boasts ample comfortable seating for 14 people, complete with a sound system compatible with CDs and iPods, and an extensive CD collection for your perusal and use. There is also a large collection of books and games for your enjoyment.
The modern kitchen has extensive storage, a double drawer dishwasher, fridge, freezer, an induction hob with five rings, two large ovens, and a sizeable grill. In addition, there's a Quooker tap for instant hot water, negating the need for a kettle, alongside a filter coffee machine. There is ample crockery, cutlery, and glasses. The kitchen is very well equipped for all you will need. It is a fantastic place to cook whilst enjoying the company of other guests.
The dining area has a sizable refectory table that sits 14 comfortably, with stunning views of the Loch and sunsets.
The house comprises 7 bedrooms, including 5 doubles and 2 convertible twins/doubles, all featuring super-king-size beds, while the master bedroom delights with a bed measuring 7' x 6'6" and a luxurious en-suite bathroom. A total of 6 bathrooms are available throughout the property.
An additional TV room offers cozy seating, a smart TV, DVD player, a cupboard full of DVD’s to keep all ages entertained and this room also has a log burner.
Outside a substantial 2.4m deck around three sides of the lower level Tigh na Breac, offering stunning views across the Loch, accessible via French doors from the TV Room, Master bedroom, and Baxter suite. There are two bench seats (cushions indoors) and some Director’s chairs to enjoy the space and views from the balcony, a fantastic place for an evening drink or a morning cup of coffee.
There is an additional snug/reading room with lots of books and a quiet area to relax and read.
For nature enthusiasts and otter spotters, the bay has been known for otter sightings, including solitary otters, mothers with cubs, and even, on rare occasions, the fathers. Although sightings are subject to weather and tide conditions and cannot be promised, many guests have captured remarkable videos and photographs.
For bird watchers, the house is a prime location to observe White-Tailed Sea Eagles, Buzzards, Eider Ducks, Goosanders, Red Breasted Merganser, Mallards, Herons, as well as rarer species such as Peregrine Falcons, Merlin’s, and Golden Eagles, there are many other birds to be spotted. Further up the loch there is a seal colony, and they often play in the bay in front of the house.
Fishing opportunities are bountiful both in sea and freshwater, with notable catches recorded in Loch Etive. Anglers at the house have easy access to rich fishing spots, including where shoals of mackerel have been caught from the shore. Boat hire is available through Taynuilt Boat Hire, with delivery options straight to the nearby jetty.
