'Hotel in de bergen. Wij verbleven hier in november en dan is het al goed koud buiten. Het hotel was niet druk bezocht en daardoor was de kachel waarschijnlijk ook uitgezet. De kamers waren dus erg koud bij aankomst en de verwarming kwam maar lastig op gang. Het ontbijt was erg karig: een sneetje brood met jam en koffie. Voor een Nederlander toch echt te weinig. Maar er werd een extra sneetje geleverd toen ik het vroeg.'

From the welcome at reception to everyone we interacted with in the bar and restaurant, the people running the place were the stars of the show, even with such a stunning location, great pool and wonderful rooms. The restaurant menu is terrific - heavy because it really represents the Alentejo and that rich, country cuisine, but beautifully presented and delicious in every example we tried.
