'Pricey but I love the fact that you can go to 8 private onsen This was our second time staying here. We have tried 4 of the outside onsen and find it very peaceful. The staff is outstanding. You can get a shuttle to and from the town. They even pick your luggage up for you if you wish. The breakfast is fulfilling and tasty as well. The staff makes this place perfect. '

'Mooie locatie. Je loopt zo naar het centrum of Harborland. Daarnaast zijn de kamers groot, kun je gebruik maken van de zonden (zit bij de prijs in) en is het ontbijt uitgebreid. Wel is dit hotel HEEL Japans georiënteerd. Het personeel spreekt bijna geen Japans, het ontbijt is niet Westers (veel rijst, vis, voor ons vreemde dingen) en je moet in de Onsen apart van je vrouw/ man. Als je daar rekening mee houdt is het goed. 💪'

'Prima voor 1 of 2 nachten. Wij missen de ruimte om vrij buiten de Ryokan te wandelen. Dat is door de weg waaraan het is gelegen niet mogelijk. Wel is er een shuttle bus die op vaste tijden van en naar het centrum van Nara gaat. Verder zou ik iedereen aanraden die geen ervaring heeft met een Ryokan je te verdiepen in een dergelijk verblijf met alle gebruiken. Maaltijden heerlijk, uitgebreid en veel. Avondtour naar de top van de berg was prachtig.'

'Very nice Royukan the sauna and hot bath were excellent and great for relaxing after a long and VERY cold day. Facility was a little beat up but probably because it’s been there for a while but it adds to its beauty. Could see the river from my room, had beautiful views of the mountain as well. '

'a great onsen place with lots to offer. Many different types of onsen as well. Love the experience. Will come back for sure. The only thing you have to watch out for is. Take the shuttle bus and try not to walk up the really steep hill to the hotel. It is definitely some cardio exercise. But, if you take the shuttle bus, which is very convenient, you will save yourself some harsh exercise. '

'Staying at Shikitei was a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were tranquil and beautiful. Nara Park is so close, we were able to get my grandaughter feed the deer and run around even on our walk to the train station. Our stay matched the pictures and reviews that I read - such a great experience! I had a Shiatsu massage there - it was very reasonable and so good that I wish I could have a massage like that at home!'
