'Great one night stay at Hotel Mato. Traditional old Greek house where the lady owner was so helpful and friendly. We had a room at the top of the house (up a spiral staircase) which had a spacious balcony with amazing views of the port. Lovely traditional Greek breakfast. The location is fantastic for Skiathos old town and the ferry port. Would recommend (as long as you like cats - she has tons them! ) '

'This hotel has had some bad reviews well to be honest I really don't understand why. The hotel is clean, the views are great, the pool is clean and the breakfast is ok ( we had b&b not half board). Yes you need transport to get about however we walked into town on several occasions and didn't find the 30-40 min walk that bad and we're both in our early 60's, there's actually a free shuttle bus which runs 3 times a day into town and twice back from town.
