'A very popular person stayed next door (maybe he was selling a lil something). Door knocks all night, people would go in, people would leave. The possible customers (if the guy was selling something) were noisy again when they started their cars and left….this happened all night long. I don’t know any other explanation for so many guests through the night in an hotel room. Also, a broken down mini van was just in the parking lot with luggage on its roof all day and night. '

'My room was the highlight. The bed was firm but not too firm. When I checked in the lady was quiet and said very little to me. She did explain how to get to my room and that the outside door opened only from inside the room. Nothing was said about a complimentary breakfast and I was very tired and didn’t think to ask. 'It was a really cool experience. The wagon was wonderfully cozy. I do recommend ear plugs because I-40 is loud at night with Jake brakes, horns and sirens. Absolutely do it if you’re traveling that way. Whether you do the hotel right by the restaurant or do the tv park/cabins/wagons…just do it. Such a great old school travel vibe. If you’re at the rv park/ cabins/wagons you can take a limo with steer horns to restaurant and back.'

'If you ever stay at this property, you will know exactly what that means. Check in is via a kiosk with an agent overseas. Never experienced anything like that but it was ok. They have worked hard to make this into a clean, safe, and comfortable hotel experience. It was quite nice EXCEPT for the horrible smell emitting from one of those plug in scent things with liquid in a reservoir. It would send a skunk running. We unplugged it and bagged it but the smell stayed with us. Note to owner: Please...

'El Capitan was quaint and vintage decor. Loved the amenities and all the property had to offer! Peaceful and enjoyed the stay! The host was amazing and so attentive. Less than 15 minutes to the canyon and 25 to Amarillo for the Big Texas Steakhouse. It was my husband and I and our two fur babies. We would definitely recommend if you’re heading that way ! One of a kind!!'
