Negatief: Staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
We stayed for three nights at hotel Gaston. Overall, the quality of the room was decent, not bad but also not good: all the necessary things were clean, however, moldy spots in the corner under the sink were visible, tiny things such as the remote controller were dirty. But other than that, it was relatively clean. The rooms were very small, but it did not really bother us since we were staying for a short trip. The personnel was polite to us, however, I noticed on the last day that my non-used contact lenses (I have day lenses, so they are individually packed) were gone. We believed that it might have been an accident of the cleaner who threw away the used packages the day before and thinking the new ones might have also been used. We tried to explain what might have happened, because accidents happen and that is okay (although I typically don’t like when cleaning employees throw away stuff in general). However, when we tried to tell the staff downstairs, they were defensive and said that it would never happen that the cleaning staff throws stuff away and that we should check our bed our suitcase where she would have put it instead. We checked, but did not see anything. After my partner bought new contacts for me, we went down again to say that we really could not find anything. They were again defensive and did not believe us. If we would have been able to resolve this at the hotel, I would have written a more positive review about my experience.
