'I planned on spending my birthday in happy valley and searched all over for a place, then I found Lakewood cottage. I talked it over with the other couple that came with and it was an easy yes for the 4 of us. The place wasn’t far from the stadium and easy to get to. It was clean and tidy and overall an amazing stay for the weekend. We would definitely stay here again.'

'Property was very clean and very quiet. Only a few problems….the toilet seat was broken, they didn’t provide enough toilet paper and paper towels (luckily we had our own) and they didn’t provide dish towels to dry dishes. Also be warned that there is no AC, but they do provide a fan. Overall though, good unique experience. '

'Great property, great stay at a very nice cottage. We visited for the weekend for Penn State’s homecoming. Close to the stadium, easy access to I-99 and plenty of food options w/in 3 miles. Two bedrooms w/king size beds and a couch w/a trundle. Very comfortable w/TV, patio, firepit, and charcoal grill. The worse part of the weekend was the non-stop rain on game day.'

'Outstanding beds, great place for a peaceful, relaxing space just outside of State College. Will be on our list for future visits as it was a great place for peace, quiet, and rest in the woods! Wonderful communication and a great experience. '

'House was great, clean, beautiful location and very thoughtful. you can hear the sound of moving water when outside on the amazon deck. The communication was great. No dishwasher but on vacation and not cooking much. Loved our stay there wish we could have stayed longer '

'This is a remodeled small home up against a mountain near the river. Serene view of water from porch. Right next to a 2 lane road. Can get some busy moments of automobiles. The owners do make efforts to provide a comfortable stay with linens, hair dryers, soaps, signage, tv. All noted in listing. Very easy to communicate with them. '

'Beautiful quaint cabin 15 minutes from Penn State. The hosts are the nicest people. Stayed for the weekend so we could go to the game. Was the perfect place to stay. There’s so much family history in that cabin, was glad we could stay there. '

'My son and I crashed here after a PennState game. It was a perfect little tucked away stay to cap an energetic day with a quiet and comfy night of sleep. The place was adorable and so clean!! And Judy was a dear when we couldn’t find the code after midnight to get in!!'

'The owners were excellent hosts. Great value for the price. Located in nice neighborhood. Loved the rustic wood floor and antiques. Clean and warm. Owners kept the kitchen stocked with tea and coffee. Very “homey” feel. The open bathroom wasn’t a big issue for us since we stayed with family. Less expensive than any other hotels in the area, especially on a game weekend.'

'Had a great time at the Cabins this was our 2nd visit. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. We needed more towels and they were brought up immediately. Family stayed next door and they were equally as happy. Zero complaints aside from the fridged cold but that’s not their fault!'
