Château Leboscq, a former wine estate dating from 1880 converted into a holiday home, offers a relaxing getaway beyond the reach of time.
THE LOCATION
Surrounded by prestigious Médoc vineyards (the big names like Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Beychevelle and Cos d’Estournel are only a twenty- to thirty-minute drive away), it commands a spectacular view overlooking the ever-changing scenery of the Gironde estuary.
An hour and ten minutes by car from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and half an hour from the region’s lakes and the Atlantic coast – including the vast beaches of the lovely, laid-back resort town of Soulac-sur-Mer – the property is located in the charming village of Saint-Christoly-de-Médoc. The town center, with its small port and restaurant, is only a five-minute walk away.
THE CHÂTEAU
The building was renovated by the architectural firm A-GrAM of Bordeaux. The interior designers of Coutume Studio, also based in Bordeaux, created the ambience and added the key final touches, and the garden was landscaped by A ciel ouvert. The traces of time and history were preserved as much as possible, blending with contemporary details.
From the very beginning, the project has been geared toward sustainability, with the goal of respecting the environment and humankind through choices like: a treatment-free pool, furniture and fittings chosen according to this principle whenever possible (e.g. bedding, comforters, pillows, etc. made by Coco-Mat from 100% GOTS-certified natural materials), Océopin organic local beauty products, biodiversity-friendly Qista mosquito control, eco-responsible cleaning products...
Personalized products developed in collaboration with the house’s favorite brands: Château Leboscq tableware in partnership with the Milanese label Laboratorio Paravicini, an original fragrance by Perfumer h, the talented British perfumer, to celebrate the characteristic odors of the manor’s surroundings through scented candles, home and personal fragrances... To be continued!
The residence is perfectly suited for families and/or friends looking for a place to unwind, in touch with nature amid total peace and quiet, in an authentic location off the beaten path. Conceived as a family dream house, inviting and comfortable, spanning the past and the present, Château Leboscq is made for creating happy moments to be shared with loved ones.
