Luxury includes attention to detail, and that is where this property failed. We don't normally give poor reviews (don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything); but there were many distractions, and previous 5-star reviews that we could not agree with. We have stayed in tens of vacation rentals and stayed at this property for three weeks. Maybe a short stay would not have revealed as much. This condo is not well maintained nor paid attention to. The platform bed in the master bdrm groaned so loudly with the slightest movement that we moved to the other room after one night of bad sleep. That bed was better. A chirping smoke detector revealed not an expired battery, but that the detector itself had expired in January 201? (last number illegible)--at least three years ago. Then discovered that the detector in the other bdrm was gone from it's mount. Kitchen was NOT fully stocked. Long-ago expired (2019) items in the disorganized pantry; messy kitchen drawers; no dish towels--we purchased; vent hood lights--1 missing; the other, burned out, and fan didn't work fully. Non-functioning light in master closet; only ten hangers for two bdrms; dresser broken; two doors with hinges falling off so the doors clunked. Towel bar dangling vertically from one bracket and both single-mount toilet paper holders spun making them useless. Filthy outside cushions. Remnants of previous guests including two vases of dead flowers, clothing item, tube of hair color, and food stuck in the sink drain. We don't know how EIGHT people could "comfortably" sleep here with each of the two bedrooms having only one king bed. "Luxury" does not mean sitting on (only three) no-back, un-cushioned, steel stools to dine at a counter top with no overhang for your knees. Manuel seemed very nice and replied quickly to any correspondence. The day we arrived, we noticed there was no coffee maker (apparently there were supposed to be two). He responded quickly to our request for one, but for various reasons, it took nine days to get one to us. Amazon would have had one there in two days (I checked). There was more, but at the risk of sounding more petty than this may already, I will stop. There were just a lot of nagging irritants that have long been ignored, and five stars are not warranted. Perhaps his guests and cleaning staff aren't making him aware of things, but with a thorough maintenance check, he could bring it closer to the VRBO description.
