It is expensive to find lodging in Seattle. We looked hard and found this property that seemed to fit our needs. Communication with the owner was excellent. Check in was easy. When we arrived, we found the property much as we expected from the pictures. We were disappointed in the neighborhood and the lack of a picture of the outside of the home prior to arriving. It was accessible to bus and light rail, which was our main transportation. There were TV's in every bedroom and the main living area. It looked to be newly and modernly renovated. There was also a grocery store within walking distance, although down a steep hill. This is not different than much of Seattle. As our stay progressed, we found things that we did not like about the property. The biggest issue for us was the deck. There is a sign posted that stated only 4 people are allowed on the deck at a time. When we went on the deck, we found it unsteady and a bit wobbly. The railing also seemed weak. We ended up not using the deck because we felt it was unsafe. That was a disappointment. We also discovered that on the first morning, there were only 4 bath towels and 6 of us. I called the owner to ask where I could find more and she said she would bring us more. We shared towels amongst ourselves that first day and then 4 new towels were dropped off at the door. We also only found 3 cereal bowls and too few spoons. We ended up washing them between our uses. The couch in the living area was probably the most uncomfortable couch I have ever sat on. There were also a lot of area rugs over the carpet in the entrance, the hallway and the living area. The edges of the rugs were starting to curl, so we found ourselves tripping on them constantly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Seattle. I think the items that we were disappointed with are easily corrected, so hopefully the owner will address these issues and will continue to rent this property.
