'We have been staying in hotels around Derwentwater for in excess of 20 years. The Glaramara experience tops the lot! We will not be looking for an alternative hotel in future. The accommodation was spacious and well laid out. Much thought has gone into furnishing and decoration of the hotel interior. Everywhere was bright and spotlessly clean. But above all was the standard of service and friendliness of the staff. A fabulous hotel.'

'Amazing stay at a beautiful property. Just off the Coast to Coast walk, this hotel was a perfect place to recover from a long walk. And the all-day tea/coffee and scones was a lifesaver. The rooms were nice and the food was delicious. Could not recommend more. They even had a place to fill up water bottles/bladders next to a gear drying room, which was a nice touch. '

'Matt was very helpful and has a lot of good suggestions for things to do in the Lakes District. Location is excellent and you can walk to town in a few minutes, which has a wide range of shopping and dining. The nearby foreshore is beautiful. The only thing that wasn't quite as expected was the parking, which was challenging to find and on occasion, took a lot of time to find something within a hundred yards or less. The property details stated that parking was included, but there is no onsite...

'The hotel is such a great location & lovely inside. The cons: no fridge which can be tough if you have a little one. Also, no charge point for electric toothbrushes. Parking is a gamble. There are paid for parking nearby but a shame the parking spots aren’t reserved for guests. Also, we got stung by the breakfast drinks. We didn’t realise until the end how much we were spending on hot chocolates & lattes. I think the hotel should give you a bill at the end of each breakfast so you are made aware...
