'Property and hosts are superb!! We had a great time with a beautiful view. The sunrises were awesome. The drive in a little tricky but once in well worth it and after a time or two not bad at all. House was quiet and secluded. Very nice for time with my wife. We were 1/2 hour from the park, were treated very well and would highly recommend this property to anyone!! It was wonderful !!'

'Our hiking trip to Shenandoah Nat park was unexpectedly enhanced by our stay at Birds and Bees cottage! What a lovely, comfortable place with amazing view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and acres of pastures. The turkeys and llamas were so interesting to watch. I particularly liked when the turkeys gobbled in unison! The owners were very nice and informative. Would definitely stay again and recommend.'

'The property is beautiful, and the home is cozy and warm. There is plenty of living space, fully stocked with house needs and comfortable couches/beds. The fire pit is beautiful and the stream is so relaxing. Also plenty of yard for games and activities. Wonderful stay and just around the corner from break hikes, the i Erie’s and breweries. '

'Our stay was nice and quiet, we had camp fires nightly, and while the train is loud it scarcely goes by. My only true issue was the long, uphill, potholed, gravel, dirt, and Mason block driveway was very difficult to ascend on motorcycles,. Overall it was a pleasure '

'Everything is perfect! Clean rooms, comfortable beds and sofa, spacious kitchen with any tools you need, and a lovely game room. We enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful views. The host was also very nice and communicative. I would definitely recommend this place!'

'This lovely little cottage on the piney river was the perfect place to celebrate 35 years of marriage. The setting was beautiful and the accommodations spacious yet intimate. The cottage demonstrates an obvious history of love and good memories. We fished the section of river assigned and got skunked. The beauty of the setting was more than compensation for this disappointment. The owners have set up a welcoming, warm and friendly vibe that made it a pleasure to stay at Sycamore Shade. We...

'Property was cute and quaint. Only thing we missed out on was the goat on the photo or some cows in the backyard that other reviewers mentioned. I think it was simply timing not on our side! But kids were looking forward to seeing animals. Jena has put a TON of time into providing resources for her visitors. Brewery nearby (Alpine Goat) was one of the best we’ve been to. Fantastic location!!!'

'My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay at Nonny Cottage. It was so peaceful to sit on the porch each morning and enjoy coffee while watching the deer! We took full advantage of the property's proximity to several trailheads. We love Crabtree Falls and even ventured to the Natural Bridge in Lexington. It was so nice to enjoy such a peaceful escape. The cottage was comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and loved being able to sleep with the windows open! Thank you fo a beautiful stay....

'We felt like it was just the right amount privacy with a country vibe yet very close to Staunton. Everything was clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We also appreciated that countertops were clear so there was plenty of room for our stuff. The bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this place for couples.'

'Chose this lodging while visiting our Granddaughter who is entry JMU. She brought her laundry with her and took advantage of the washer & dryer. Lots of deer in area; able to view from balcony. Also saw one ground from balcony. Easy access to Shenandoah National Park for great hiking and fall colors.'

great road hotel, will stay again.

"Good location for travelling, even close enough to drive downtown Staunton. Hotel grounds very neat and good parking, first impression inside very clean and open and very friendly staff. Room was spacious and quite clean, bathroom needs some professional plumber do the caulking and removal of mold, though generally clean. Breakfast was quite varied, with as well choices for a healthy breakfast, though also very sugar loaded choices. Service at breakfast was perfect, the ladies kept all super clean and tidy!! Environmentally the breakfast was horrible, only Styrofoam, even melting plates under my toasted bagel, coffee cups melting, cutlery just unusable - please change to paper (recyclables)!? didn't use the gym or pool, but gym looked light and spacious. would stay again!"
