Aurora Cottage is een unieke bergontsnapping in Katoomba, die deel uitmaakt van de Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage-site van New South Wales. De verhoogde positie van het huisje biedt een adembenemend uitzicht op de Megalong-vallei met spectaculaire zonsondergangen die de perfecte romantische vakantie bieden.
Aurora Cottage ligt dicht bij de belangrijkste stad Katoomba, waar een keuze aan cafés, pubs en restaurants beschikbaar is voor een verscheidenheid aan eetervaringen. Geniet van een wandeling door de schilderachtige cadeauwinkels, kunstgalerijen en antiekwinkels in de omgeving. De wereldberoemde Scenic World en Three Sisters liggen op slechts 3 kilometer van Aurora Cottage.
Aurora Cottage is geschikt voor maximaal 6 personen. De luxe hoofdslaapkamer heeft een prachtig queensize bed, terwijl de tweede slaapkamer een stapelbed en een tweepersoonsbed heeft. De slaapkamers bieden een prachtig uitzicht op de tuin. Alle bedden zijn opgemaakt met elektrische dekens en donzige, gezellige dekbedden voor die koude winternachten. Kwaliteitsbeddengoed is aanwezig voor uw comfort.
De badkamer van Aurora Cottage is recentelijk gerenoveerd en bevat een hogedruk douchekop. Luxe badhanddoeken zijn voorzien van een verwarmd handdoekenrek om ze warm en gezellig te houden. De schone, volledig uitgeruste keuken is voorzien van een magnetron en een koffiezetapparaat met capsules, thee, kookgerei, kookgerei en serviesgoed.
De grote ramen van de open lounge en 6 eetkamer van Aurora Cottage kijken uit over de prachtige Megalong Valley. Er is keuze uit een openhaard of gaskachel. De loungeruimte is compleet met een 40-inch flatscreen-led-tv met een surround sound-thuisbioscoopsysteem van Sony. Een Blu-ray dvd-speler wordt geleverd met een selectie dvd's om uit te kiezen, inclusief externe harde schijf om van uw eigen favorieten te genieten.
Geniet 's middags van een drankje en een barbecue op de grote veranda met een mooie buitentafel. De veranda is omgeven door een prachtig onderhouden tuin waar de lokale vogels leven. Parkeren is mogelijk in de afgesloten garage, oprit en aan de voorkant van het huisje.
Aurora is overal licht en helder en biedt een vredige, rustige omgeving voor totale ontspanning. Het huisje biedt een perfect romantisch uitje voor koppels of een betaalbare vakantie voor gezinnen en is een klein eindje rijden van de stad. Het is gelegen in een van de meest pittoreske delen van Katoomba met veel geweldige wandelpaden in de buurt, waaronder de beroemde Six Foot Track uit 1884 die begint in Katoomba en eindigt bij de Jenolan Caves.
Helaas is het huisje niet geschikt voor huisdieren omdat de achtertuin niet omheind is en uitmondt in de Megalong Valley. Aurora is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Quaint, cosy, character-filled cottage.
A quaint, cozy cottage perfect for our small family of three. The most striking feature when entering the property is the gorgeous uninterrupted view of the valley. The cottage has a rustic appeal with its retro furnishings, comfortable living area, and thoughtful provisions such as a Nespresso coffee machine, cooking essentials, and generous provision of pillows and towels. Bedrooms - the queen bed is SO comfortable with lovely soft bedding and sheets. Double bed in the other bedroom was much firmer and I didn't find it comfortable to sleep on. The bedrooms have no heating, but electric blankets are provided. We stayed in April so it didn't get too cold, however, I imagine it would be cold in the bedrooms if staying in the Winter, and this could be accommodated with the provision of oil heaters. We loved the colourful front and backyard gardens which were a joy to explore, and enjoyed having a drink on the front verandah overlooking the gardens. The cottage could do with some cosmetic upgrades, in particular fixing the bathroom door, replacing rusty fittings in the bathroom,and a rubber strip at the base of the shower door to prevent water soaking the bathroom floor. The living area needs a floor lamp to create ambient lighting at night instead of having bright lights overhead. The host Kristen was very reliable. She provided detailed and helpful information prior to check-in, and kindly accommodated us with an earlier check-in time. We loved our stay at Aurora Cottage.

I need to come back
First trip (short) to experience the Blue Mountains. The cottage was perfect, location, peacefulness, equipment, but the weather was not on our side unfortunately.... Full day rain ! We will come back, different season, and we will rebook the house without any problem.

Cosy cottage with a beautiful view
Really enjoyed our stay at Aurora Cottage and in the Blue Mountains in general. Kristen was very helpful in explaining the check in process and kindly accommodated us with an earlier check in option. The cottage has everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen with some lovely extras. It is small and nothing is "new" but for us staying with younger children that made it comfortable and it was great to see some games and books there. The bathroom has seen better days but was fine for what we needed. The heating works really well in the cottage and the shower was strong and the water was hot. The view from the living room and kitchen is magnificent. We even saw a wallaby outside :) and I loved the back garden. It's five minutes drive to the centre of Katoomba and even closer to Scenic World so very convenient if you are driving. It's fairly tight parking for a 4WD (just getting in the gate) but doable. Thanks Kristen, we had a good stay.

Spring garden cottage.
We were welcomed by a charming spring garden, with lovely valley views to wake up to each morning, and beautiful sunsets to enjoy in the evening. The house was comfortable, warm, and met our needs. We had a very enjoyable stay, and would be happy to go back. An internal laundry would have been nice- no mention was made of it being in the garage. Rain proof access to it would be helpful. Suggestion- The kitchen frypans need replacing.

Nice location for a cottage stay
Good location close to everything in the city via car, nice property in the type of a cottage with some limited updates, the kitchen is rather dated and would benefit from more insulation and windows as spiders and ants were coming in from outside due to the cold season and a direct access to the garage to use the washer and dryer would be a great upgrade, but this is rather alinged with an older cottage. The bathroom shower needs a good scrub to remove some of the discoloration on the silicone rubber. Good communication with the owner and the check-in and out was very easy and convenient.

Beautiful cottage with lovely views
Perfect little cottage for our family of 5. Location requires a car to get to most places, but there is a bus stop close by. The views are beautiful and the bird life abundant, which made staying in when one of my little ones were unwell not so bad! We were going to have an extra 2 adults stay with us, but that didn't work out, and I think it would have been very cosy if they had, particularly with one bathroom, but worked well for our 5! Our host Kristen was responsive to texts when needing extra linen. We wish we could have stayed longer. Great value.

Our relaxing stay in close proximity to Katoomba with spectacular views was everything we'd hoped for and more! This cosy house was toasty warm, super clean and had lovely welcoming touches like a Nespresso machine. It was a perfect base to explore the many delights nearby - we hope to visit again...

Very well equipped kitchen. Pot belly fire warmed the whole place in about 10 mins. It is smaller than appears in pictures and I wish people wouldn't use a wide angle lens to give the appearance of more space. Was no problem for us a only two of us. but i think the very small room near the kitchen is really only suitable for a child. Beautiful views from the lounge (though the telescope was a bit useless), and comfy and spacious sofa. Bed very comfortable with quality linen. However I would not describe the towels as luxurious. They were only basic standard and bath size would have been nicer. The only other thing i could suggest to add to this property apart from better quality towels, would be some hot chocolate sachets - the hills screams out for hot chocolate by the fire. And maybe a couple of lamps for more ambient lighting rather than the overhead ones. But overall we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to reccomend it.

Just came back from spending the weekend at this property - it's a alot smaller than we thought. We had three adults and one teenager in our group and really you wouldn't want any more than four people staying due to the size of the living area and the very small kitchen. The third bedroom is very very small and would only suit a small child due to the size of it and for this reason we didn't use it. When we arrived in the afternoon around 4pm and tried the light the gas heating we couldn't get it start so after much googling and reading of manuals we had to contact the owner, who did arrange for someone to come and have a look at it but couldn't fix it and we were expecting temperatures of -6 over night. We had already lite the open fire to try and warm the place up but really unless you were standing on top of it it really gave out no heat at all. So it was a night of beanies blankets and gloves to try and stay warm and there is no heating at all in the bedrooms. Thank goodness that there was electric blankets on the beds, but one of them wasn't working and we had to switch them over so that everyone in our group had an electric blanket on their bed. Look to be honest we had a few issues whilst staying there and it's to be expected with such an old property which I have advised the owner of already and they did have the gas heating fixed for us on the Saturday so that we didn't have to freeze thru our second night stay.
