'A beautiful heritage estate of large proportions and character. The history was fascinating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were superb. A beautiful country setting with beautiful views of the river and farmland. Well equipped rooms, with all appliances you could ever need. Rooms were cosy and warm. We loved using the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Highly recommend and I would love to stay here again, given the opportunity.'

'Lovely stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Vicky was always on hand when needed and communication was great - super quick! Loved coming outside to the chickens and seeing the horses when we arrived. We had a really nice stay and would definitely recommend/return!'

'Beautiful house, so lovely and warm with everything we needed set in a spectacular location. Despite the wind and rain we had a great time and managed to do some lovely walks in the better days. '

'Stayed here to visit family in both Stoke on Trent and Bolton and this was roughly in between. Had a wonderful peaceful time here and wished we could have stayed longer. Hope to go back again sometime. '

'Lovely cottage, has everything you need for a quiet getaway. Host is really nice and the area is lovely. We had two dogs with us and they loved the enclosed field to run around in. The surrounding villages are nice to visit and plenty of pubs and public trails to check out. All in all a perfect holiday. We Will be coming back. '

'Lovely clean property, the children really enjoyed the games. We were very pleased with the little extras that the owners have available like tea & coffee. 40 mins from Alton Towers was very handy with a Tesco enroute so we could get any bits we needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in the future when in the area. '

'A lovely log cabin with hot tub. Cabins are not overlooked and were quiet. Lots of places to visit nearby with kid's, including Alton Towers. Nearby Cheadle has everythingg you might need.'

'Lovely property in a peaceful location. Facilities were great, lots of care has gone into providing a very comfortable holiday home. The hot tub was wonderful at the end of a day out exploring. The welcome bottle of prosecco was a lovely gesture. We all had a great stay. '

'Behind the black iron door there is a lovely well equipped cottage. The best thing is that it is right in the middle of Cheadle and at the same time a quite retreat, the best of both. We are not the absolute nature lovers, but made trips tot Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. Close enough for a days visit. But we explored the Peak district as well. We did Buxton and Ashbourne and Leek too. We find the cottage very cosy. We didn’t miss a thing. Everything was there, including good Wifi.'

'Enjoyed our stay. No instructions provided to open the manual lockbox to get the key to enter the property. After a long delay we found a video on Google & happy we opened the lockbox. Comparing this property with our other self catering stays, this property does not provide toilet rolls. '

'Uitstekend hotel. De mensen achterdeur balie zijn uiterst behulpzaam en deskundig. We hebben een nacht bijgeboekt omdat er zoveel te doen en zien was en het hotel een perfecte uitvalsbasis was. Het restaurant heeft prima eten en ontbijt. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk, maar vergeten regematigd je bestelde drankje te brengen. Soms loop men druk heen en weer, maar er gebeurd weinig. Beter overzicht van bv. een manager. '

'Great location to stay a couple of nights for a sad family occasion. Jasper on the front desk was great. Facilities are OK but not perfect. At breakfast even in non peak periods, basic items were missing and tables unkempt. However our room was spacious and we would stay again though not if we wanted to feel spoiled or as a particular treat. '
