The Space:
Little Blue Wren by Tiny Away is an off-grid tiny house located northeast of Melbourne, “Dindi” area. Four Pillars Gin Distillery, Sedona Estate, Great Victorian Rail Trail, and restaurants like Marmalades, Yea Take-Aways, and Yea Bakery are a few of the recommended attractions our vacationers enjoy.
Perfectly located close to the best of what Victoria has to offer. It's a cozy, tiny house of approx. 157 square feet where you can rest and enjoy comfortable accommodation with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that this is an off-grid unit with limited power that is powered by solar energy. For guests' convenience, we recommend preserving electricity during the day and using it only (late in the afternoon or at night) when absolutely necessary to avoid power outages. Overall, minimal consumption is advised.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its 8-acre property, including the designated walkways for guests to explore. So, please check the map provided upon your arrival.
Guest will also have access to "Complimentary Amenities" such as our BBQ, indoor fireplace, and the first bucket of firewood provided on the guest's first night. If you are interested, we also have pre-orders listed below by prior arrangement with the host 24 hrs before arrival.

- Redwood Forest is a small forest of towering redwood trees, with several well-marked trails, picnic spots, and a creek.

- Great Victorian Rail Trail is a 134-kilometer-long historical attraction in Victoria that runs from Tallarook to Mansfield and Alexandra.
- Puffing Billy Railway is a preserved steam railway that offers stunning views of Victoria's rolling green hills, lush forests, and farmlands.

- There are no taxis available that travel directly to and from Yea.
To travel from Melbourne and Bendigo to Yea, you have a couple of options:
From Melbourne to Yea:
- By Train, you can take a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Seymour. From Seymour, you can catch a bus or taxi to Yea, which is about a 30-minute drive away.
From Bendigo to Yea:
- By Train, you can take a V/Line train from Bendigo to Melbourne and then follow the Melbourne to Yea options listed above.
Additional Tips: Please check train and bus schedules in advance for the most current information.
Consider carpooling or rideshare options if available.
Other Things to Note:
- No WiFi
- Solar-powered / Off-grid unit
- No smoking allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Buy firewood at any service station or supermarket.
- Compost bins are provided to dispose of trash properly.
- Disposing of food scraps, however, have a different bin provided
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra only. Other networks work at a distance from the property
- Guests are advised to bring portable power banks in case of low power
- Guests are also advised to save energy to avoid running out of electricity
- Please charge your phone and electronics in advance in case of low-light days
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Kindy be informed that certain areas of the property may still be undergoing maintenance following the recent flood. We are diligently restoring everything to its original condition. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Pets Policy
- Please inform us if you will be bringing your pet 24 hrs in advance
- Pets are limited to only one dog or cat in courtesy to the host & other residents
- Only fully house-trained pets are allowed with a pet cleaning fee of $30 per stay
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings/feces
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
Safety guidelines
- Guests are restricted from walking in tall grasses and taking long drops into the creek.
- Given the rural setting and abundant wildlife, children are welcome under CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION
- For guests' safety, please refrain from entering wildlife areas as snakes, wombats, echidnas, etc. often gather
- Guests are advised to wear long loose pants and closed-toe shoes such as sneakers and boots to avoid snake bites.
- Please stay within the permitted areas or areas that have been mowed, especially paddocks that may be calving or have bulls in place at the time. Kindly check map provided to see guest's accessibility within the property.
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep an eye out for snakes as the property is located in bushland (or grassland) areas
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
