'Mooi hotel, leuke kamers. Nadeel was dat het raam niet open kon blijven staan. De badkamer was erg eenvoudig. Leek op de badkamer van een stacaravan, paste eigenlijk niet bij de stijl van de kamer. Hotel heeft geen lift, hetgeen het reizen met een zware koffer moeilijk maakt, zeker als je op de 3e verdieping je kamer hebt. Hotel is erg centraal gelegen t.o.v. het centrum. Op een paar minuten lopen van een Wetherspoon (pub).'

'We don't get away very often and finding an affordable price with Astor, made our trip possible. The rooms were clean with communal spaces to; mingle, pay games, watch movies, plus a communal kitchen. However we chose to stick to our room as we planned as most of our time would be spent in the city. A easy walk to the city centre plus a bus for those that struggle right out side the hostel. 'One night stay for a gig in Leeds, the lady on reception was the most welcoming of any staff I’ve ever come across in properties I’ve stayed at . The place was nice and quiet and well presented. It done exactly what was required, the only negative I would say was that the room was very cold and the heater only stopped on for a short period of time but that also could have been myself not knowing how to work it correctly. 'Whitby is overpriced for overnight accommodation. Unless you are here for more than two nights the YHA is perfect. Great location (unless you don’t like walking uphill) beautiful views, free parking, basic but very comfortable beds and an amazing breakfast for £10 (2024) Excellent '

'Nice and cheap'

'I would recommend a stay here for the fabulous central location. The room was clean and check in instructions were very clear. Please be aware there was no reception as such, but if needed you can leave your luggage at the bar next door, and there were emergency contacts listed. We didn't need any of this but good to know. There were a couple of bottles of water in the room and some discount vouchers, all of which were an unexpected bonus. The kitchenette was handy if you wanted to make a drink...

'Everything was great. However the parking was not. Had to navigate tight one track road to turn and then park down the hill on the road and walk back with luggage. Could do with a secure drop off.'

'It was the third time that I stayed in this hotel and before I liked it, which is why I returned. It is conveniently located and I liked it that you have a studio. Now, however, it was not properly cleaned and the mattress on the bed should have been thrown into the garbage. Lumpy and with a big depression in the middle. How on earth can one offer such a bad sleeping facility?'

'Very few properties are perfect and this property had a few issues, but these pale in comparison to the convenience, location, professionalism, and cleanliness. The staff more were truly amazing and they themselves deserve five stars. They were accommodating, considerate, professional, efficient, kind, and truly represented the very best of York. I would be inclined to make these apartments my go to place for any future visits to York.'

"Jammer dat we een invalide kamer toegewezen kregen. Werd aangegeven dat het een lekkee rustige kamer was. Was dus niet de kamer die wij hebben gereserveerd. Zal vanaf nu dit voortaan afwijzen!!!"

"Breakfast was great, staff was nice and the location was perfect. However, Housekeeping left our door open by accident and it stayed like this the whole day until we came back late at night. We're lucky that nothing was stolen, but this could've ended very differently... That's why I can't give a higher rating. "

Prachtig hotel, slecht ontbijt

"Heel mooi hotel dicht bij het centrum van York. Makkelijk te belopen. 2 éénpersoonsbedden waren zo geregeld. Alleen het ontbijt is heelmerg duur en summier, slecht. Roerei gemaakt van poeder, weinig keuze maar we £20!! "
