'I liked the sitting areas outside with fire pits. I guess the prices weren't too bad. The sheets and bathroom seemed clean. If they would do a little updating it would be an awesome place to stay. The Indian men at the front desk were nice and tried to work with me. I didn't like when I booked on Expedia the pet friendly rooms were more. So I assumed that's because of the pet. But when I checked in there were additional pet charges. A sign on the door saying $25 a night and a sign on the desk...

'Right on Lake Huron next to forest. Can see Big Mac and Grand Hotel all lit up at night. Night time bonfires on beach with free smores. Breakfast - biscuits, gravy, powdered eggs, yogurt, apples, juice. Short drive to food, shops.'

'Lake view in all rooms. Felt safe..clean and quiet too. Oddly I rented Days Inn on Expedia then got a confirmation for K Royale Lakeland inn. Confusing! Maps also listed the address as K Royale. Address is a Days Inn. This needs fixed. '

'Our family traveled far to visit the sand dunes and were disappointed to find out the overlook was closed. We attempted to make some kind of memory from our travels. We weren’t familiar with the area and went based on reviews. The Howard Johnson met all the needs we had. The courtesy call was also refreshing considering customer service nowadays.'

'The jetted tub is the deepest, widest tub I’ve ever seen, it was great! Floor needed to be replaced! Other guests stayed out in parking lot partying till past 2-3 am! Over all, I did feel safe in my room, the front desk/concierge Man was amazing, kind and friendly! I would recommend'

'A classic motel done in spectacular fashion. There are a lot of rooms here. My room was fantastic. It was super clean and brilliantly bright. I suspect it has been freshly painted in the last year. The bed was very comfy with plenty of blankets. I enjoyed the art in the rooms and appreciate the decent size fridge and the microwave. The furniture was all nice. I like the shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower, a good idea. Also I'm over 6ft tall and the showerhead is actually high enough...

'If you have tried to get a hotel near Traverse City in any time except the dead of winter you know that the prices for hotels are bananas. I was drawn in by a very reasonable price for a weekend stay but I worried that it would be a stone cold dump. When we arrived we were pretty sure we were getting a dump. The parking lot/exterior/lobby is a bit rough. The room however, was pretty good. Comfortable and spacious. Had all the items that you wanted. We didnt use the pool but the indoor pool...
