'My family of four stayed at Dan's over Christmas. The downtown location was incredibly convenient, but the highlight for my kids was definitely the theater room. Between the theater apartment and the studio, we had two differently styled spaces to give us room to move and differentiate our activities. Would definitely stay again!'

'We spent 11 days in Dan’s place. The apartment itself was great. This is a building with several units on multiple floors so a lot of people come and go. And they don’t all appreciate picking up as we ran across spilled food multiple times between the elevators and halls. The building seemed secure. The rooftop dog park was disgusting as ppl did not pick up after their pets. '

'Last minute trip to visit some friends in the Quad Cities. Location was perfect and allowed us to park and walk to just about everything. Tim was super quick with communication! Great views of river too.'

'We were here for a conference and were so close to the event center where it was held. I think it could’ve been helpful having resources of how to use the skywalks as I think we maybe could’ve used those to get to the event center if we knew. The apartment was perfect size for all of us and the beds were comfy and clean. One of the bathroom towels had beard trimmings so that’s our only complaint. 'We chose the Nelson Loft because it was close to the Adler Theater but found out it is also close to great bars and restaurants and other venues. It was easy to get to, but parking was a little tricky. The apartment was comfy and a nice place to hang out for the weekend. The full size bed in the larger bedroom is super comfy with nice fluffy pillows. '

'The location is great, close to Main St, parks and the river. Parking spots are tight, but good to have free, gated parking. Older building that is being renovated. Overall a good value. '

'The property was as advertised and in great shape. Perfect place for downtown Des Moines and good communication from host on checking in and out. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that outside of the loft and the first floor bedroom it could have used some auxiliary heating due to the cold. Since it was january a lot of cold air gets in through the window which isn't the fault of the host but just be prepared. We would use it again despite this. '
