'Het huis is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. De keuken is top. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Het uitzicht vanaf de woonkamers is subliem. Je kijkt zo aan tafel met je kopje koffie over Lochalsh.'

'We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of 6 adults and were very comfortable. It was nice that every room had its own bathroom and the home was very clean. The views from the living room were stunning! '

'We had a great time on Skye, staying at Shore Cottage. It was just what we needed as a group of 3 couples travelling by van. We were able to spread out and relax. the views across the water to Portree and the Old man of Storr, first thing in the morning was fantastic. Well appointed with everything you need, great cooking facilitys and washing machine etc, to catchup with the laundry. A great place for a relaxing stay.'

'Das Haus liegt definitiv nicht zentral. Das liegt aber in der Natur der Sache. Als einziges zu bemängeln war, dass die Heizungssteuerung etwas kompliziert war bzw. keine Informationen dazu Vorlagen. Ansonsten war das Haus sehr schön, es war alles vorhanden was man braucht und die Aussicht ist umwerfend. Definitiv zu empfehlen, wenn man Skyes Natur erleben möchte.'

'It was a lovely clean place to stay. We were asked ahead of time how we wanted bed configuration, it was suggested we could all have king beds (beds could be pushed together & made up as kings) well none of the 3 beds were like that when we got there. Other than that it was close to shops, places to eat and Portree was lovely'

'Mooi ruim huisje, warm welkom en prima contact via de mail met eigenaresse. Alles netjes en verzorgt. Ligging ten opzichte van toeristische trekpleisters is goed.'

'Overall, I liked this cottage. It is definitely out in the country so I hope anyone looking at this home understands that moths and spiders exist in the world. We named the spiders and left them alone and nobody was bothered by them. The other reason for the 3 stars on cleanliness was just because some of the bathroom items could have been cleaner, including the shower mat. Sandra, the owner, was super responsive and wonderful. However, they do have a property manager, and I tried to contact him...

'Here is the translation: When we were on Skye last year, we passed by the house. It caught our attention, and we stopped to read the name. When we decided to return to Skye, it was without a doubt that we would spend part of our vacation at The Backrest. It did not disappoint. The house is bright and equipped with all conveniences. Everything is focused on ergonomics. It has lovely beds and fantastic chairs for endlessly looking outside. We fell in love with the big green chair 😁. In short, we...

'The owner met us there and had the fire going. He was very nice and gave us a lot of pointers on where to go and what to see, not your typical tourist attractions. We were there for a few nights for our honeymoon and he had a little surprise waiting for us when we got there. If your looking for a quiet cool little place to stay I would highly recommend staying here. Our only negative was the bed was a little small for someone who is a bit taller.'

'Beautiful, remote home in Skye. Near a wonderful restaurant, The Stein Inn, near beautiful hikes, and overall very cozy. Would not hesitate to recommend( however would warn that the kitchen utensils and implements are quite sparse so choose your groceries wisely. '

'Our group had a consensus that this is absolutely the most gorgeous place any of us have ever stayed. Comfortable and modern, yet entwined timelessly with the land, everything was thoughtfully and beautifully arranged..an aesthetic masterpiece. We never wanted to leave! Hope to stay for far longer next time.'

'Mooie vrijstaande woning met uitzicht op de bergen. Netjes en schoon aangetroffen, met opgemaakte bedden. Ruime goed uitgeruste keuken, fijne zithoek en leuke extra leefruimte boven. Nette slaapkamers met goede bedden. Kinderen waren blij met goede WiFi! Door de centrale ligging zijn alle bezienswaardigheden op Skye met dagtrips goed te doen.'

"The pod is very nice, clean and has a lovely view. Very near to Portree and all the restaurants, shops, etc. A perfect location to start exploring the island from. Breakfast is great (a cute tray with yoghurt, croissant, fruits for every table and on top of that you can order warm food from the menu) The people working there are very friendly. Unfortunately they are short of staff and you notice that. Breakfast takes a bit longer than usual, the restaurant was shut on one of the days we stayed there and the lounge/bar was closed during our stay. Luckily there is a pizza guy (Pizza in the Skye) just down the hill that makes terrific pizza’s to take and eat in the pod with some Netflix on or to sit out and watch the stars if the weather is good. Would recommend this stay for the location, view, cosiness, etc. but price is quite high. Though I must add prices are sky high on Skye everywhere.."
