'Overall Villa Lapas Jungle Resort was a good place to stay. We had 2 rooms with breakfast, but did not pay for the all inclusive stay because we are vegetarian and don’t drink alcohol. Positives: 1. 'This was a beautiful property. The personal pool was an absolute dream! There are plenty of places nearby to eat, but you almost certainly have to drive. I would recommend having your own transportation if you stay here - 4x4 since the hill is STEEP. Little to no bugs in the room, which is quite rare in Costa Rica. 'Spent the 1st of our 3 weeks in Costa Rica here. Quiet place to unwind. Incredible view of the Gulf of Nicoya with the most bird activity we've seen so far in a stunning tree out front... Macaws, Toucans, Parrots and lots of smaller birds as well. A refreshing little pool. Requires a vehicle to get anywhere. The owners live right there and are very responsive to any needs. Highly recommend!!!'

'The place is a rental property rather than a hotel. The host Carla was very friendly and responsive. The view was amazing. However, the property could use some serious work. There were holes on the wall, stains on the couch, splashes on the kitchen window shades, mold or stains on bathroom ceiling. The bathroom sink doesn’t work.
